Dover - Marie Kemp went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017.
Marie was born, Jul. 8, 1948, in Bloomington, Ind., to the late, Cecil Baker and Dorothy (Graves) McGee. She had worked as a supervisor with the United States Census Bureau for many years. She was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God, in Dover.
Marie is survived by her husband, Walter C. Kemp; her sons, John Brian Nuss and wife, Lisa, of Newark and Troy Alan Nuss and wife, Denise, of Wilmington; her foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pepper; her sisters, Joyce K. Bennett, and husband, David, of Dover and Carol J. Tucker, of Bridgeville; a brother, Clarke E. Ney, of Norfolk, Va.; her aunt and uncle, Clarence and Bertha Van Slyke, of Indiana; and five granddaughters, Miranda Nuss, Kala Nuss, Demi Nuss, Mackenzie Prettyman, and Neila Nuss.
Services will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Compassionate Care Hospice, 248 E. Chestnut Hill Road, Suite 4, Newark, DE 19713.
