Marie Elaine Camp, 76
Marie Elaine Camp, devoted, loving mother and wife, passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, at Bayhealth Kent Campus.
Marie was born April 11, 1946, in Waynesburg, Pa., to the late Joseph Kurilko and Julia Andrenok Kurilko and met the love of her life, Roger W. Camp, on July 5, 1966. Marie and Roger were married just 34 days after meeting and went on to share 55 years of marriage together before Roger passed in 2021. Marie and Roger shared a bond like no other and were just as madly in love and inseparable at the end as the day they first met. Marie followed Roger one year and four days after his passing and is undoubtedly by his side again.
Marie adored being a wife to her beloved Roger, she beamed with pride about her children, Roger and Gary, and doted endlessly on her grandchildren. She loved making others laugh and was lauded for her famous chicken cutlets, cinnamon buns and chocolate chip cookies.
Upon the family's move from Piscataway, N.J. to Dover, Del. in 1990, Marie worked for 25 years at Artisans' Bank.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her soulmate, Roger William Camp, Sr.; and her brother, Joseph Kurilko of Bentleyville, Pa.
She is survived by her sister, Josephine (Kurilko) Konrad and husband Joseph of Dover; children, Roger and Kate Camp of San Francisco, Gary and Kristin Camp of Wilmington, Del.; and step-daughter, Kathy and Bert Balinski of Middleburg, Pa.; grandchildren, Emily, Riley and Greyson Camp, Lily and Olive Camp, and Matthew and Jennifer Balinski. She held dear in her heart her nephew, Joseph Konrad Jr.; and niece, Julia Konrad.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Joseph Rubacky for his years of kindness and dedication to Marie and Roger's care.
The family will receive friends at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Del., from 5-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023. Services will follow at 6:30 p.m. All who are unable to attend may watch the livestream on Torbert Funeral Chapel's website: https://www.torbertfuneral.com/
