HARTLY - Marie E. Walla passed away Wed., Jul. 1, 2015 at Silverlake Nursing Home. Mrs. Walla was born Nov. 5, 1925 in Pittsburgh, Pa. to the late John Richter and Bertha Bures Richter. She had worked as a seamstress for 10 years at Leeds Travel Wear in Clayton. Mrs. Walla loved all animals, dogs, cats, raccoons, farm animals. She enjoyed gardening, canning but especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Walla, 1996; son, John Walla; twin brother, Anthony; and brother, James. She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Conrad and her husband, Russell of Hartly, Aggie Jackson and her husband, Charles of Hartly; brother, John Richter of Vero Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren and thirteen great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 12PM, Tues., Jul. 7, 2015 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Faithful Friends Animal Society 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, Del. 19804 or Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, Del. 19801.
