DOVER - Marie Coombs, 77 died October 1, 2013 at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital in Dover. Born in Savannah, Ga., she attended public schools of Chatham County. Marie left Savannah in 1954 after getting married. Following her husband's retirement from the United States Air Force, Marie and her husband moved to Dover. She is survived by her husband, William A.D. Coombs; son, William D. Coombs; daughter and son-law, Terri and Nathaniel Townsend; sisters, Mrs. Jessie Palmer Johnson of Savannah, Mrs. Lena Seabrooks of Brooklyn, New York; one brother-in-law, five sister-in-laws, a host of aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and loyal friends. Visitation and Funeral services will be 9 a.m., Monday, October 7, 2013 beginning at the John Wesley United Church, 840 Milford Neck Road, Milford. Interment: Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Bear. Arrangements are being handled by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover. Letters of condolence may be sent and guestbook may be signed at www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com
