Marie Bettyjane Brown, 67
SMYRNA - Marie Bettyjane Brown, of Smyrna, departed this life Sunday, March 2, 2008, in Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna. She was 67.
She was born Dec. 30, 1940, in Houston, to the late Garland and Gladys Brown, and was the oldest of six siblings.
Marie enjoyed singing and was especially drawn to gospel music and hymns.
She learned at a very early age to sing "What a Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Silent Night." The music seemed to give her peace at the end of her life.
Marie leaves to cherish her memories one brother, George Brown of Houston; two sisters, Janice O. Morris of Dover and Geneva E. Noll of Harrington; one brother-in-law, Donald Noll; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
