Marianne U. Purnell

DOVER - Marianne U. Purnell died Sunday March 20, 2011, at Kent General Hospital. She was 62. She was born March 9, 1949, in Germany to the late Joseph Kappaun and Emma Lucus Kappaun. Mrs. Purnell had worked Civil Service as a cook retiring after 22 years of service. She enjoyed sewing and leading people to God. Mrs. Purnell was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 17 brothers. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Jasper Purnell of Dover; two sons, Stephen Reinthanz of Germany, and Jason Purnell of Wilmington; daughter, Gabriele Foster of Germany; four grandchildren, Michael, Shatia, Atis and Brian Foster. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, March 25, 2011, at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 1141 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. Letters of condolence may be sent and the guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
