Marian Ramona Carney

(Bubbles) Carney, 83 DOVER - Marian Ramona (Bubbles) Carney passed away Sat., Mar. 30, 2013 at Kent General Hospital. Mrs. Carney was born Jul. 23, 1929 in Dover to the late Samuel Horace Durham and Sarah Morris Durham. She worked for more than 20 years at Van Holten's Pickle Factory in Kenton. Mrs. Carney was a member of the Forrest Grove Seventh Day Adventist Church where she taught Sabbath School and played the piano every Saturday. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Glendon "Jake" Carney in 1989; and a daughter, Roxanne Carney in 1982. Marian is survived by her son, Alvin Carney and his wife Wanda; and grandson, Jared all of Dover; sisters, Glendora Ridgeway of Dover, Iona Gould of N.J.; brothers, Samuel (Jazzy) Durham of N.J. and Purcell (Duke) Durham of Dover; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Fri., Apr. 5, 2013 at the Forest Grove Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4950 Pearson's Corner Rd., Dover, DE 19904. Friends may call at the church 2 hours prior. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. Arrangements by Torbert Funeral Chapels. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at torbertfuneral.com.
