
LINCOLN - Marian L. Bennett passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018 at home. She was born Sept. 14, 1915 in Milford, the daughter of the late Samuel C. and Madolyn (Favinger) Norgan.
Marian was a homemaker and worked hard on the family farm. She was an excellent cook and seamstress, loved music and gardening. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and working puzzles. She also had a good sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes. Above all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the Farm Bureau, Delaware Agriculture Museum and the Lincoln U.M. Church. She served in several capacities, including Sunday School Superintendent and teacher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Bennett in 2005; brothers, Ponder, Barrett, Charles Norgan; and sister, Lurana Millman.
Marian is survived by her children, Joyce Kickery and Madolyn Warrington, both of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Kenneth Clark (Donna), Jack Clark of Lincoln, Diana Ashley (Debbie) of Milton, Lynn Faltin (Glen) of Charlotte, N.C. and Kevin Clark (Melissa) of Maryland; 16 great grandchildren, Kim, Kenny, Keith, Caleb, Levi, Isaac, Elena, Kai, Justin, C.J., Jack, Paige, Wendy, Alyssa, William and Henry; six great-great grandchildren, Thomas, James, Ashton, Evan, Emmett and Kate.
A visitation will be held Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Lincoln U.M. Church, 8641 Second Street, Lincoln. Interment will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford. The wearing of colorful clothing is requested by the family.
