Marian Jeanette Fillman, 84 DOVER - Marian Jeanette Fillman, 84, superior family implementer, loving wife and mother, of Dover, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, in Kent General Hospital. She was born on Feb. 12, 1926, in Port Allegany, Pa., daughter of the late Gerhard and Irene (Woodworth) Johnson. She received her Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Penn State University, in 1948; where she had met her future husband on a blind date. Marian retired in 1991, from Wesley College as a media coordinator after 12 years. She was a founding member of the Heritage Red Hatters and also was a member of the VFW 3238 Ladies Auxiliary, Camden-Wyoming, and a member of the St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Dover. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Bonner. Marian is survived by her husband of 60 years, Harry Fillman; three sons, James Fillman and his wife Cheryl of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jerry Fillman and his wife Barbara of Washington Township, N.J., and Harry Fillman and his wife Bernadette of Smyrna; a daughter, Jenny Quell and her husband Garry of Camden; a sister, Betty Schreiner of St. Louis, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be 1 p.m., Saturday at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 425 N. DuPont Hwy., Dover, where friends may gather one hour before services. Burial will be private at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Alzheimer's Association, 240 N.
