SEAFORD - Marian Deane Moore of Seaford died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, in the Methodist Manor House, Seaford, while reading the First Chapter of Romans in her Bible. She was 94.
Mrs. Moore was born Dec. 4, 1912, in Williamsburg, Md.
She was a graduate of Hurlock (Md.) High School and Goldey College, Wilmington, class of 1931.
She and her husband together owned and operated an industrial electrical contracting business.
Mrs. Moore was a charter member of the First Baptist Church, Seaford, where she was treasurer and a Sunday-school teacher for more than 50 years. She served on the board of directors of the Seaford Christian Academy. She was active in Republican Party activities, serving as president of the Seaford Republican Women's Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Elmer Moore.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, C. Edward and Carolyn Moore of Burnt Chimney, Va., and James L. and Jan Moore of Wilmington; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Percy Deane of Hurlock.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St., Seaford.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church, 543 N. Bradford St., Seaford.
Burial will be in Unity Washington Cemetery, Hurlock.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Seaford Christian Academy, 543 N. Bradford St., Seaford, DE 19973.
