Marguerite J. Austin, 92

LAUREL - Marguerite J. Austin of Laurel passed away Thursday, June 28, 2007, in the Seaford Center, Seaford. She was 92.

Mrs. Austin, in her early years, worked as a seamstress for the Walker Garment Factory, Blades.

She took pleasure in spoiling the neighborhood children by helping them with their homework, placing an extra plate on the table and baby-sitting. In addition to being a kind neighbor, she enjoyed gardening and making crafts.

Mrs. Austin was a member of St. George"s United Methodist Church and the Laurel Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rosa Foskey; her husband, Marvil Austin, in 1982; four brothers, Charlie Foskey, Samuel Foskey, Horace Foskey and Ernest Foskey; and a sister, Ellen Ward.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2:15 p.m. Monday in the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, where friends may call from 1-2:15 p.m. The Rev. Sam McWilliams will officiate.

Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Laurel.

The family suggests memorial contributions to St. George"s United Methodist Church, c/o Rick Culver, 28996 Discountland Road, Laurel, DE 19956.
