Marguerite G. Collings

DOVER - Marguerite G. Collings, of Dover, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at home surrounded by her children. She was 83. Mrs. Collings was born Jan. 9, 1929, in Boston, Mass., to the late Gerald Booden and Marguerite Clauss Booden. She worked at Walter Baker Chocolates. She was a homemaker and enjoyed trips to the beach. Mrs. Collings was an avid reader and gardener. She adored her seven grandchildren. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Dover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm J. Collings, Feb. 5, 1993; and her sister, Dorothy Howard. She is survived by her five children, Paul Collings of Baltimore, Md., Diane Antoine and husband Blaine of Milford, Nancy McCormick and husband Gary of Middletown, Glenn Collings of Dover, and Mark Collings and wife Shelly of Pottstown, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Christina, Tyler, Suzanne, Jordan, Justin, and Jacob: two sisters, Geraldine Howard of Bartlett, N.H., and Janet Conner of Virginia Beach, Va. Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at Christ Episcopal Church, 501 S. State Street, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association of Delaware, 100 West 10th Street, Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
