Phelps, 92 MILFORD - Mrs. Margie Spellman Phelps passed peacefully from this life in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013. Margie was the last surviving child of the union of Zebedee Spellman and Henrietta Sutton and their nine children. She was born on July 4, 1920 in Weeksville, North Carolina as the middle of five girls that composed her family. Margie was predeceased in death by both her parents, her spouses and her two children; Joyce Williams and Lurdest Williams in as well as her sisters, Ann Harper, Ella Sharpe, Irma Taylor, Mary Fountain, and brothers Ralph Spellman, Ulysses Spellman, William Spellman, and Oliver Spellman. In addition to her three living children, Keenan, Kendall, and Kirk, she leaves behind one son-in-law, Wendall T. Fisher; one daughter-in-law, Brigit Phelps; seven grandchildren, Michelle, Deschaun, Damien, Kijana, Kamesha, Keshia, Cameron; and ten great-grandchildren, Legin, Danielle, Amaya, Isaiah, Cory, Victor Jr., Mason, Carlynn, Kwasi, and Mikaela; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at 12 pm at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 205 N.W. 4th Street, Milford, and interment at Milford Community Cemetery. Arrangements are made courtesy of the Lofland Funeral Home of Milford, Delaware.
