Margaret "Margie" Greer-Lorenz-Mertz, beloved Mother, Mommom, and Grr-8 Mommom went home to her Lord and Savior on October 14, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Margie was born on December 17, 1934 to the late Thomas and Louise Greer. She was the second eldest of seven children.
Margie held several employment positions with Libby's in Houston, Kauffman's Furniture, CF Schwartz and lastly Playtex Products. Margie lived a life full of love. She had tremendous love for her daughter, Susan and her husband Allen, and her four grandchildren. But there was a special place in her heart for each Grr-8 Grandchild that was placed in her loving arms.
She will forever be remembered for her great storytelling abilities, unconditional love of Elvis, and the pride she had for her family.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Eddie, Bobby and Sonney; and her sister, Pat.
She is survived by her sisters, Betty Whittington of Lacey, WA and Diana Harms of Milford, DE; and many nephews and nieces. She is also survived by her daughter, Susan (Allen) Starke of Frederica, DE; grandsons, Matthew (Jenna) Starke of Magnolia, DE, and Patrick (Pam) Starke of Wilmington, DE; and granddaughters, Lauren (Jason) Stover of Felton, DE and Kristin (Casey) Jones of Erie, PA. She is survived by ten Grr-8 grandchildren, Olivia, Johnathan, Lexxie, Jess, Xander, Jameson, Jaxson, Leia, Arabella and Levi and many many honorary grandchildren/Grr-8 grandchildren.
Now she can finally cuddle her son she never got a chance to hold.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to make a donation to American Heart Association and or the National Kidney Foundation.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, October 21, 2022 at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 1141 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover, DE. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
