Margaret Ellen Golt, 68

LEIPSIC - Margaret Ellen Golt, of Leipsic, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, surrounded by her loving family in Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover. She was 68. Mrs. Golt was born Aug. 24, 1941, in Clayton, the daughter of the late Chalmers and Elizabeth Middleton Steele. She worked as a Nurses Aid for the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill in Smyrna for many years. She enjoyed helping others, and was a compassionate and helpful person. Mrs. Golt was a member of the Hope Volunteers of Kent County. She also enjoyed bowling, sewing, and crocheting. She would also enjoy fishing with her husband on many occasions. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Oliphant, Lavara Weed, and Violet Lowman. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years this November, Samuel James Golt Sr.; her sons, Samuel Golt Jr. and his wife Tami, Mike and his wife Stacey, Larry and Carey; one daughter, Joanne and her husband Mark; grandchildren, Elisa Sheets, Diane Bouldin, Leslie McMullen, Harry McMullen, Michael Golt Jr., Madalyn Golt, Maeghan Golt, Heather Golt, Keith Golt, Lily Golt, Amanda Golt whom helped care for her, and Karen Youngblood; great-grandson, Matthew Youngblood; her three brothers, Hope Steele, Chalmers Steele, and Carlton Steele; her one remaining sister, Doris Cruson; her lifelong friend and sister, Peggy Ringler; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 1, in Maranatha Fellowship located on 60 deer Track Lane, Dover. Viewing hours will be offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be at Sharon Hills Memorial Park in Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Meals On Wheels 1121 Forrest Avenue Dover, DE 19904. Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium Inc., 29 South Main Street, Smyrna. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
