Margaret E. Galli

DOVER - Margaret 'Margie' E. Galli, 89, of Dover, passed away Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was born on Nov. 17, 1921, in County Mayo, Ireland, the daughter of the late John and Mary Maughan. She arrived in America on Jan. 31, 1948, where she lived with her aunt and uncle in Philadelphia, Pa. Her love for her new country was further realized when she became a United States citizen in 1956. She was a loving wife, mother, homemaker, and all around wonderful person. Margie loved to bake and will always be remembered giving someone cookies and cakes. Margie was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and previously a parishioner of St. Mary Magdelen in Wilmington. Margie loved all the members of her parish family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gino A. Galli Jr. in 1987. She is survived by her son, James Galli and his partner Keith Newman of Dallas, Texas; her daughter and her husband, Peggy and John Bell of Dover; her granddaughter and her husband, Nicole and Matthew Wilson of Dover; and her great-grandchildren, Christian, Xavier, and Brittany. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dover, where friends may call two hours prior. Burial will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Holy Cross Church, 631 South State Street, Dover, DE 19901.
