DOVER - Margaret B. Lower of Dover died peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, under hospice care in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 80.
Mrs. Lower was born March 23, 1927, in Dover, daughter of the late William G. II and Ida T. Bush.
She worked for the State of Delaware in the corporations department for several years before retirement.
Mrs. Lower attended Dover High School, where she was on the girls basketball team, and went on to graduate from Ursuline Academy in 1945. She went on to attend Goldey Beacom College and worked for the DuPont Co. for several years.
She enjoyed playing cards and celebrating the holidays with her family. She particularly enjoyed decorating the house for the holiday seasons. Other interests included playing cards, visiting the beach, making ceramics, reading and raising her family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lower was preceded in death by a brother, William G. Bush III.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert K. Lower; a daughter, Peggy L. Vogl of Frederica; a son, William J. Lower and his wife Karen of Palm Springs, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Megan E. Vogl of Smyrna, and Jason, Joshua and Joseph Lower, all of Palm Springs.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors Inc., Smyrna.
