Marcellus Leon 'Marc' Babin, 76

SMYRNA - Marcellus Leon "Marc" Babin, of Smyrna, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2009, in Christiana Hospital. He was 76. He was born on Aug. 25, 1932, in Beaumont, Texas, son of the late Darryl and Clintious Babin. Marc served his country proudly in the USAF for 22 years achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, planting things and traveling. Marc was a member of the VFW, Dover. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Perdita (Pemberton) Babin; two daughters, Marcia Babin of Austin, Texas, and Lisa Babin of Dover; two sons, Harold Fisher of Florida, and William Fisher of Virginia; grandchildren, Keyla Andrews, Jeffrey Babin, Michael Williams, Carl Williams, Rahsaan Johnson, Dana Fisher, and a host of others; a nephew, Curtis Wallace and his wife Renee of Cheswold, Dion Pemberton, and Jamal Bridgeman; nieces, Sharon Wallace, Narzan Wallace, and Shanike Wallace; a sister, Barbara Jean Chapman of Portland, Ore.; two brothers-in-law, Franklin Pemberton and Dwight Pemberton, both of London, England; and a mother-in-law, Delores Pemberton of London. He will be sorely missed by all his family. Services will be noon Tuesday, May 5, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call one hour earlier. Burial will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. Letters of condolence can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
