TOWNSEND - Marcellus Allen Bryant Sr., 79, of Townsend, passed away peacefully on Feb. 10, 2011, to be with the Lord. He was born in Dover on Jan. 24, 1932, son of the late Rev Lace Bryant Sr. and Elise May Bryant. He was a retired Army Veteran and board member of Appoquinimink School District and a teach for the State of Delaware with more than 25 years of faithful service. Marcellus is survived by his devoted wife, Rev. Imogene Bryant of 54 years; three sons, Marcellus A. Bryant Jr. of Townsend, Darryl L. Bryant of Tucson, Ariz., Maurice Oliver (Angie) of Camden; two daughers, Yoki Johnson (Michael) of Smyrna, and Lonzella Stewart of Middletown; a brother, Arblee A. Bryant of Aiken, S.C.; and two grandsons and three granddaughters. Viewing services for family and friends will be on Thursday, Feb. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lee Haven United Methodist Church in Townsend, and Friday, Feb. 18, from 9 to 11 a.m. and funeral 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Middletown. Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. Condolence can be sent to minusfh@verizon.net. Services were provided Minus Funeral Home.
