Manning V. Waller, 78
SEAFORD - Manning V. Waller of Seaford died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, in Life Care at Lofland Park. He was 78.
Mr. Waller was a 50-year gold card member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Local 2012 as a Millwright. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
His true passion was farming his land. He loved the smell of the fresh-turned soil and the sight of the new crops' blanket of green covering the fields. He was a loving and caring man to his family and a friendly, honest person to all who knew him.
One of Mr. Waller's favorite sayings was, "Until We Meet In Glory, Just One More Round."
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 64 years, June S. Waller in 1994.
He is survived by his second wife of six years, Sherron Waller; three sons and three daughters-in-law, Gary and Ila Waller of Seaford, Mark and Connie Waller of Pennsville, N.J., and Douglas and Christine Waller of Seaford; a daughter and a son-in-law, Cathy and James Young of Laurel; nine grandchildren, Timothy Waller, Toby Waller, Renee Robinson, Jessica Wisneski, Brandy Widdowson, Holly Lyons, Megan Lyons, Luan Young and Jesse Young; five great-grandchildren, K-Ci Widdowson, Cole Widdowson, Tatum Ayers, Michael Robinson and Haley Robinson; two sisters, Ruth Foskey and Patsy Ward, both of Seaford.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St., Seaford, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Sefaord.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Wesley United Methodist Church, 22025 Atlanta Rd., Seaford, DE 19973.
