HARRINGTON - Lula Mae Van de Water of Harrington died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover surrounded by her family and friends. She was 69.

She was born Nov. 19, 1937 to the late Byron and Marie Hurd of Hartly.

Mrs. Van de Water worked as an apartment supervisor in Pennsylvania for many years with her husband.

She loved crocheting and needle work.

Mrs. Van de Water was a devoted wife and mother and will be missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, George Hurd and John Hurd; one sister, Blanche Ranck of Washington; and a nephew Jeffery Nickerson.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Van de Water II of Harrington; two sons, Edward Tripp of Pennsylvania and Robert Van de Water III of Florida; one daughter, Debbie Tuxbury of Connecticut; four sisters, Rose Green of Dover, Kathy McDaniel of South Carolina, Charlotte Pleaston of Frederica, Thelma Nickerson of Harrington, with whom she lived; one brother, Bud Hurd of Nevada; six grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and great-neices and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday in the Christian Life Center, Dover.
