Lucille Amelia Bowden Moor, 82
HARTLY - Lucille Amelia Bowden Moor of Hartly died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, in her home under the loving care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was 82.
Mrs. Moor was born Oct. 17, 1924, in Sweet Springs, W.Va., the third child of the late Oakland and Josie Griffith Bowden.
Being a mother was very important and something she loved being, as her mother died when she was just 8 years old.
Mrs. Moor graduated from Wilmington Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1948 and worked at Kent General Hospital retiring 1972.
She used her skills to provide first aid to anyone who had gotten a scrape or cut while helping do family farm chores.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and sweetheart of 55 years, John "Jack" T. Moor Sr.; sisters, Nancy Davis and Mercedes Richmond; and brother, William Bowden
She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Elizabeth Sue and Gordon R. Collison Sr. of Hartly, Margaret Lucille and Albert J. Orth of Hartly and John Thomas Moor Jr. of Dover; five grandchildren and their spouses, Melissa Jo and Todd Green, Jennifer Beth and William Jones, Gordon Richard and Stacie Collison Jr., Brian Thomas Collison and Callye Rae Moor Masten; nine great-grandchildren, Todd Edward Green, Elizabeth Anne Green, Amber Jo Green, Thomas Richard Green, Joseph Thomas Jones, Emily Grace Jones, Madison Faith Jones, Gorden Richard Collison III and Zacrye Teylor Collison; a special niece, Linda Davis; and many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Sunday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Saturday.
Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
Instead of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
