SLAUGHTER BEACH - Luanne Wise passed away on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2018 at Milford Memorial Hospital due to heart complications. Luanne was born in Indiana, on Dec. 6, 1940 to her parents Byron E. and Helen M. Wise.
Ms. Wise was proceeded in death by her parents, and older brother William (Bill) Wise of Harrington.
Luanne graduated from Bridgeville High School and soon after her desire to travel and experience different cultures took her to Germany, Greece and other countries. She began her career in Baltimore, Md. in the field study of Cytohistology (the integrated study of cells and tissues). Ultimately, her love for Slaughters Beach brought her back to Delaware where she transferred to work at Kent General Hospital for several years.
Luanne was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, most importantly she was a one of a kind soul, always true to herself. Selflessly she helped care for her brother, aunt, father, but always made time for her passions of cooking, nature, animals, music and antiques.
She is survived by her sister, Lora McKenna of Lewes; sister-in-law, Rosalie Wise of Harrington; nephews, Ben Wise of Harrington, J. Eric and Linda Wise of Maryland, Todd and Shelly Wise of Greenwood, Barney McKenna of Philadelphia; and her niece and caregiver, Christi W. and Ken Boots of Greenwood; along with nine great nieces, nephews; and cousin, Lucinda Feringer Arnold of Indiana. Luanne also shared a special bond with her beloved cat Kisho.
A private memorial service will be held with internment at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
