DOVER, DE - Lt Col Louis Calabrese (Ret) peacefully passed away, Thursday, January 26, 2023 at home.
He was born June 7, 1942 in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Louis Calabrese and Anna (Viggiano) Calabrese. He received a Degree in Chemistry from Villanova University and a Degree in Plant Science from Delaware State University.
Lt Col Louis Calabrese (Ret) served 24 years in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer then as an Acquisition Contracting Officer retiring in 1988. His main interest was loving his family.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother, Peter J.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen (Bondoc) Calabrese of Dover; children, Louis M., Joseph A. and Brian N.; siblings, Kathleen, Joseph and Mary Ann; grandchildren, Nicholas E., M. Caroline, Samantha G. and Andrew J.
A viewing will be held from 5-7 PM, Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10), Dover, Delaware 19901.
Interment will be held 11 AM, Thursday, February 9, 2023 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, Delaware 19701.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Gary Sinise Foundation or United Service Organization (USO).
