Lottie was born Jul. 2, 1922, in Franklinton, N.C., daughter of the late Lizzie Oakley and Kenneth Kenzie Edwards. At seven years of age she moved to Virginia and lived in McKenney, and then Colonial Heights, Va. During World War II she worked for C&P Telephone Company at which time she met and married 1st Lt. She was a member of First Baptist Church and held many positions of service. In 1976, Lottie and Harold moved to the Crow Indian Reservation in Prior, Mont., serving for two years as ABC Missionaries among the Crow Native American Indians. After returning home to Dover in 1978, she wrote a book about their time on the Reservation entitled "The Pierced Heart." She traveled seven times to the Holy Lands and enjoyed speaking in churches, schools, and clubs about her trips to the Middle East. She enjoyed being a member of Dover Camera Club, Girl Scouts, Century Club, and The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She loved art, writing, reading, photography, and she lived a full life.
