Lorine S. Barkins, 86

DOVER - Lorine S. Barkins of Dover died March 26, 2007, in Silver Lake Nursing Center, Dover. She was 86.

She was born in Grafton, W.Va., the daughter of the late Harry and Flora Phillips.

Mrs. Barkins had been a resident of Dover since 1958 and had served as senior secretary at the Dover Air Force Base Mortuary, a position she held for over 20 years.

She had been a longtime member of the Eastern Star and was an active participant in women"s activities that supported Masonic Charities throughout her life.

She had been a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Dover and Wild Quail Golf & Country Club. A kind and gentle lady, Mrs. Barkins will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Barkins, who died in May 2002.

She is survived by two sons, Philip N. Barkins and Randy Barkins, both of Dover; three grandchildren, Krista Iplinski of Marydel, Del., Kyle Barkins and Nick Barkins, both of Dover; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler Morris and Emily Ipenski, both of Marydel.

Services and interment will take place in Arlington National Cemetery and will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Family suggests donations in her memory to the Ladies of the Eastern Star, Harrington, DE 19952.
