Loretta M. Jackson

Loretta M. Jackson, 67

Loretta M. Jackson of Hurlock, formerly of Harrington, Del., died Monday, Jan. 29, 2007, in the Memorial Hospital of Easton. She was 67.

Mrs. Jackson was born Aug. 24, 1939, in Baltimore, daughter of the late Aldelbert and Rita (Szczesniak) Pawlak.

She worked as a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service in Norfolk, Va., for 15 years before retiring in 1993. Before that, she worked at Delaware State College in the finance department for 10 years.

Mrs. Jackson and her husband, Blanton, owned and operated Burrsville General Store in Burrsville.

She was preceded in death by a son, Mickey Charles Jackson, in 1978; and a sister, Patricia Martin.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Blanton Jackson; a son, William B. Jackson of Middletown, Conn.; and three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Meghan and Christopher.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, 50 Commerce St., Harrington, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in Hopkins Cemetery, Felton, Del.
