Loraine Mahon Vaughn, 87

GREENSBORO, Md. - Loraine Mahon Vaughn, of Greensboro, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, in the Caroline Nursing Home in Denton. She was 87. Born July, 25, 1921 in Hancock, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Horton and Helen St. Mart Mahon. Mrs. Vaughn and her husband John owned and operated Vaughn Flowers from 1969 to 1979. Prior to moving to Greensboro, they owned and operated a landscape and florist shop in Towanda, Pa. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Vaughn Sr. She is survived by her five sons, John W. Vaughn of Laurel, Del., Craven H. Vaughn of Gillet, Pa., Wayne R. Vaughn of Greensboro, Vaughn Vaughn of Greensboro, and James Chip W. Vaughn of Houston, Del.; two daughters, Joyce M. Ringgold of Greensboro, and Jill M. Vaughn of Whiteleysburg, Del., Roy Shrimp of Towanda, Pa., whom she raised like a son; one sister, Shirley Davis and husband Bill of Hancock, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, P.A on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, from Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greensboro Cemetery. Condolences may be send via www.fleegleandhelfenbein.com.
