SMRYNA -Lola R. Swiggett, of Smyrna, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 17, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Swiggett. She is survived by five children, Hortense (Winston), Sandra, Gloria (Alonzo), Thomas, Harvey (Crystal); five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Swiggett's work experience included being a domestic worker and also working as a teacher's aide in both the Smyrna and Dover School districts. She retired from the Delaware Home and Hospital as a housekeeping employee. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 235 Commerce Street, Smyrna. Viewing will be 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Smyrna. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook may be signed at www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are being handled by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
