Lois M. Parsons, 86

HARRINGTON - Lois M. Parsons, of Harrington, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 86. She was born on Jan. 3, 1923, in Lansing, Mich., daughter of the late Chancey and Hazel (Miller) Brown. Lois had worked for General Foods, Dover, for over 20 years. She enjoyed playing the piano, boating and camping. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond A. Burge and her second husband, Narvel Parsons in 2004. She is survived by five children, Gerald R. Burge of New York, Robert C. Burge of Hartly, Linda S. Hayden of Missouri, William A. Burge of Delaware, and Stephen Burge of Harrington; two step-daughters, Annett Coblentz of North Carolina, and Yvonne Cole of Harrington; a sister, Thelma of Arizona; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held Wednesday at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
