DOVER - Lois Avril Gabriel, formerly of Houston, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Mar. 13, 2017, surrounded by family.
She was born Apr. 16, 1945, in San Fernando, Trinidad, the daughter of the late Valentine and Violet Carvalho.
Mrs. Gabriel retired after 40 years of work as a Registered Nurse for Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Lois had a love for animals and cooking for family and friends.
Lois is survived by her son, Stefan Gabriel (Marlena), of Laurel, Md.; and her siblings, Gail, of Trinidad, Fabian (Violetta), of Rochester, N.Y., John (Ellen), of Smyrna, and Vené, of San Diego, Calif.
A viewing will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., on Monday, Mar. 20, 2017, at the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main Street in Smyrna. Services will begin at 6 p.m. Burial will be private.
