DOVER, DE - Lois Aurelia Wiebel LaMarche passed away on July 23, 2022. She was born in Bay Shore, NY on August 22, 1945, to the late Frederick J. Wiebel and Madeline Wiebel Spitzfaden. Lois was a graduate of John Bassett Moore High School in 1963. She received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Delaware in 1968, and her Master's in Education from Salisbury State Teachers College in 1976.
Lois taught in the Caesar Rodney School District for 39 years, retiring in 2007. She was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Dover.
In addition to her parents; Lois was preceded in death by her loving husband, Albert; stepfather, Louis E. Spitzfaden; and brother, Frederick Wiebel.
She is survived by her sister, Kathleen W. Koch (Daniel) of Wilmington, DE; stepsisters, Gail Phillips (Wendell) of Jacksonville, AR, Donna Ludlam (Larry) of Rincon, GA, Patricia Kepfer (Richard) of Hartly, DE; and sister-in-law, Lupe Wiebel of El Paso, TX. She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Karin LaMarche and Vera LaMarche; grandchildren, Alexander (AJ), Rachel and Allyson; nephews, Nicholas Koch, Jon Wiebel, Mathew Wiebel; and niece, Tara Ross.
Visitation will be held at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Rd. (Rt.10)., Dover, DE on Wednesday August 24, 2022, from 6-8 PM. A memorial service will be held on August 25, 2022 at Christ Episcopal Church, State and Water St. at 1 P.M. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
