Lois Ann Sweetman

GOLTS, Md. - Lois Ann Sweetman died at her home on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. Mrs. Sweetman was born Sept. 12, 1947 in Wilmington, the daughter of the late William and Charlotte Montgomery Vinyard. Lois attended Middletown High School through the 10th grade. She married Thomas B. Sweetman, Sr., at the age of 17 and the two started their family. In 1979 she went to work for Johnson Control and formally retired in 2012. Mrs. Sweetman was very active with the Dover Elks Lodge #1903 for 22 years. She enjoyed collecting dolls, lighthouses and a variety of other things. She loved to spend time with her family and travel across the United States with her husband. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, William Vinyard, Sr.; and her sister, Linda Yates. She is survived by her husband of over 52 years, Thomas B. Sweetman, Sr., of Golts, Md.; son, Thomas Sweetman, Jr.,(Joyce), of Elkton, Md.; daughter, Tammy Bramble (Jack), of Earlville, Md.; daughter, Charlotte Heverin (Gary), of Golts, Md.; son, William Sweetman (Lorri), of Middletown; three sisters, "Ditti" Debusk (John), of Elkton, Md., Carol Dyling (Allan), of Texas, Cheryl Bradley (Mark), of Bear; one brother, Michael Vinyard (Chris), of Florida, nine grandchildren, John, Heather, Tommy, Christina, Katie, William, Brittany, Amber, Brandi ;and six great-grandchildren, Conor, Sean, Brandon, David,Carolynn and Kabella. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2016 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Fellows Family Funeral Home 370 Cypress St. Millington, Md. Service will begin at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the Dover Elks Lodge #1903, 200 Salisbury Rd., Dover, DE, 19904.
