After a long and joyful life, Lloyd V. Killen Jr., of Camden passed away on November 26, 2024. Born in Dover, DE, he was the son of the late Pearl (Long) and Lloyd V. Killen Sr.
He was a graduate of Caesar Rodney High School where he met the love of his life, Judy. He was known for his hard work, determination, and devotion to his family. Lloyd was proud of his service in the Army during the Korean War and spent 15 years in the Army National Guard during which time he achieved the rank of Major. While he had many endeavors, he is most remembered as the manager of Lowes of Dover and his real estate work. He enjoyed golf when he wasn’t working and in retirement. He was a lifelong member of Whatcoat United Methodist Church.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to his caregivers, Kim, Tina and Deborah and the staff of Delaware Hospice.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Killen was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne “Judy” (Powell) Killen, who passed away on June 2, 2024. He is survived by his children: Terry Fisher (Mike) of Dover, Janice Boudreau (Lee) of Atlanta, GA, L.V. Killen (Wendy) of Camden and Glenn Killen (Cindy) of Magnolia; one sister, Naomi Carmean of Houston DE; eight grandchildren: Ryan, Jamie, Todd, Christy, Ashley, Chad, Lee and Allyson; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be 11 A.M. Thursday, December 5, 2024 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where friends may visit with the family from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. Thursday. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Whatcoat Church, 16 Main Street, Camden, DE 19934 or to Home of the Brave Foundation, 6632 Sharps Road, Milford, DE 19963.
