Lloyd Edison Sammons, Jr., 84 Lloyd Edison Sammons, Jr., devoted husband and father, passed away peacefully in Danville, Virginia on August 14, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife, Joye and daughter, Heather Showalter, son- in-law, Nelson E. Showalter, and grandson, Nelson H. Showalter. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Edison Sammons and his mother, Edna Ellen Rogers Sammons. Lloyd was born in Georgetown, Delaware on January 17, 1937. He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church in Concord, Delaware. Lloyd graduated from Georgetown High School. He served in the Army National Guard with duties and specialty training in Fort Sill, Oklahoma and San Antonio, Texas. After honorable service in the military, Lloyd worked in the building trade business for over 40 years. He worked at Rust Weir, Johnson and Wimsatt, Boise Cascade, and Masten Home Centers in sales, marketing, and design. He retired in 2000. Lloyd enjoyed spending time with friends and family, camping, saltwater fishing, and bird hunting. A graveside service will be scheduled and announced at a later date.
