Linda W. Davis, 59 HARRINGTON - Linda W. Davis, of Harrington, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at her home. She was 59. She was born in Milford to the late Loraine W. and Louise K. Wilkins. Mrs. Davis worked as a bookkeeper for the past 40 years and in 1981, alongside her husband, started and worked for the family's tax and investment business. She was very active in sports. She was a two time gold medal winner in the Huntsman World Senior Games, as a member of the Delaware Ya-Ya basketball team. Mrs. Davis was instrumental in organizing Harrington Little League Softball, where she served as a coach, and umpired many of their games. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Caitlyn, who was the apple of her eye. Mrs. Davis was also an avid Phillies and Eagles fan, and watched most of their games. She was a member of the Avenue Methodist Church in Milford. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, whom she met in a bowling alley, Olin "Mike" Davis Jr. of Harrington; son, Mickey Olin Davis and wife Laurie of Middletown; and granddaughter, Caitlyn Davis of Middletown. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South Dupont Hwy., Harrington, where friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will be in Milford Community Cemetery. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS Clinic, c/o John Hopkins Hospital, Meyer 5-119, 600 N. Wolfe St., Baltimore, MD 21287; or to the Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901.
