FELTON - Linda went home to the Lord peacefully on Friday, Jun. 30, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was a graduate of William Penn High School in June of 1979. She retired from the state of Delaware in 2015.
Linda was a faithful member of The Cross Church of The Nazarene. Her faith was strong and sure. She loved going to Sunday service with her church family. She was a person who inspired those around her by her love and how she lived her life. She loved to travel and see new places.
Linda loved her husband, Tom, of 26 years. She was a dear sister, a caring friend, and a fun loving aunt. There are not enough words to say how special she truly was. She and her husband had a bond that was built by love and faith. She enjoyed sharing goofy songs and quirky jokes with her nieces and nephews. She loved spending time with her family, even if it were just a phone call to say "hello!" She was a peaceful and kind soul. Her only desire was for people to just get along and be happy. For those who knew her they knew that kindness was her gift.
Linda was predeceased by her mother, Helen Jones-Moore; her father, William W. Vaugn Jr.; her brother, Clarance Jones Jr.; and her sister, Candace M. Calloway.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Thomas Olsen of Felton; her siblings, Barbara Thomas of Clayton, William Jones (Irene) of Townsend, Joseph Jones (Cetta) of Smyrna, Thomas Jones (Janice) of Newark, William W. Vaugh III of Middletown, Victor Jones of New Castle, Kathleen Jones Grocki of Hartley, James Jones of New Castle, and Charles Jones (Peggy) of Smyrna. She also left a plethora of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jul. 8, 2017, at The Cross Church of the Nazarene at 1818 N. Little Creek Rd. in Dover starting at 1 p.m.
Letters of condolence may be sent and guestbook signed at www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com In lieu of flowers please make donations payable to Delaware Hospice Inc., Milford. DE. 302-856-7717. Professional service entrusted to Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
