Lillie Mae Maull, 90
LEWES, DE - Lillie Mae Maull passed away on Friday September 9, 2022, at home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on February 18, 1932, in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware to the late Augustus and Amanda Waples. She was married to the late Edgar Maull Sr., for 51 years
She graduated from William C. Jason High School in 1950. She was a dedicated employee at Midway Palace Theater for over 32 years.
Lillie was a long-standing member of John Wesley United Methodist church and served many years as usher board president, she would spend hours cooking and serving church dinners. She also planned, organized and participated in other church fundraisers such as bake sales and graveyard rallies. She was also a member of Faith United Methodist church. She was a faithful servant of the lord, she read her bible daily and would always say "don't forget to pray". Her favorite scripture was Psalms 27.
Lillie was an avid sports fan especially softball and baseball. She would travel to any sporting event that her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren participated in. She loved her family and worked hard to raise them well.
Lillie was a wonderful cook and was especially known for her homemade pies, rolls, chocolate sheet cake and rice pudding.
Lillie was very outspoken and would tell you exactly what was on her mind.
She was very stylish with her clothing; she never went out without her earrings and her hair done.
In her early years she loved working in her yard, shopping and traveling. In her later years she loved going riding, especially to see her homeplace in Rehoboth. She loved doing word search puzzles, watching the game show network especially family feud to see what color suit Steve Harvey was wearing, going to IHOP for breakfast and shopping at Walmart.
Lillie was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Thomas and Gertrude Grinnage; three brothers, George, Linford and Edward Waples; one daughter-in-law, Deborah Maull; and one son-in-law, Wayne Jefferson.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Pandora Kennedy of Lewes, DE (Jay), Jacqueline Brown of Townsend, DE (Carlton), Lavonne Lucas of Harbeson, DE (Leonard), Cynthia Hyland of Lewes, DE
Amanda Marshall of Parsonsburg, MD (Alfred), Edgar Maull Jr. of Felton, DE (Joyce) and Inger Lawton of Camden, DE (Michael); one sister-in-law, Lois Waples. She leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Also, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of Lillie's life will be held at Conley's United Methodist Church, 33106 Jolyns Way, Lewes, DE 19958 on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
