Lillian Dolores Rhodes

MOORESVILLE, N.C. - Lillian Dolores Rhodes went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 7, 2018. She resided for the past four years at the Brookdale Memory Care, Statesville, N.C. Dolores was born on Feb. 17, 1940, in Chestertown, Md., to the late Samuel Albert Wiggins and Pearl Avrilla Wiggins. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughters, Theresa Lynn Rhodes and Sharon Lee Rhodes.
Dolores was a homemaker and a school volunteer at Immaculate Conception in Elkton, Md., while her two children were younger. Later in life, she and her husband owned Norgetown Coin Laundry in Smyrna. Prior to retiring, Dolores and her husband moved to Milford, where she worked as a part-time merchandiser for Kimberly-Clark. Throughout her life, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, camping and walking the boardwalk in Ocean City, shopping, and eating out. Over the years, she was also the loving owner of three dogs Tina, Buddy, and Sweetie.
Dolores is survived by her husband of 61 years, Harry George Rhodes, Sr.; son, Harry George Rhodes, Jr.; daughter, Sherry Lynn White and husband, Edward Allen White; grandsons, Nicholas Rhodes and Edward White; granddaughters, Cassandra Rhodes and Regan White.
Services will be on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, Md., with Pastor Shane Moran officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Church Hill Cemetery, Church Hill, Md.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dementia Society of America, P. O. Box 600, Doylestown, Pennsylvania, 18901.
