DOVER - Leontyna "Irena" Conti nee Luniw died on Nov. 18, 2010, at the age of 72, at Silver Lake Nursing home in the arms of her daughter. She was born in Ukraine and came to America on Feb 10, 1951, with her mother and sister at age 12. She was very proud to obtain US citizenship. She trained at The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC where she fulfilled her dream of becoming an artist. She then worked as a draftsman at the NY Telephone Company. She married John Conti Nov. 27,1965. She lived most of her life in Cranford, N.J., where she was very active in The Green Thumb Garden Club. She had many friends that stayed in touch through the years. She was the most amazing craftswoman and could make anything out of anything. She loved Toll painting and if it wasn't nailed down, she painted it. She was gifted seamstress and very talented in cross stitch and crochet as well. She is survived by her two most precious possessions, granddaughter's Samantha (11) and Madison (7), as well as her beloved daughter Marisa and son in law Michael Bush. Friends may call on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at noon at 14 Crossley Drive, Dover. Local arrangements by Torbert Funeral Chapels, Dover.
