Leomelino Mendes

WYOMING - Leomelino "Frank" Mendes, 75, of Wyoming, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Christiana Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in British Trinidad, Frank was a veteran of the US Army as a Communication Specialist in Germany. He was employed at Grumman Aerospace in Long Island, N.Y. (1965-1977) and Missoula Power Company in Montana (1977-1979). He moved his family to Maryland in 1979 and was employed by Mulholland-Harper Co., retiring in 2002. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Helen Grace Mendes; three children, Franklin Mendes (Robin), Charles Mendes (Donna) both of Wyoming, and Melissa Rholetter Dixon (Jay) of Felton; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His first grandson Corey Mendes and wife Amanda lived with and cared for him. Frank enjoyed spending time with his family and watching westerns. He has joined in heaven three brothers, Tony, Gabriel and Carlos; and a grandson, Michael Lee Mendes. A memorial service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Church of Christ in Christian Union, Henderson, Md. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
