Lenora Neal Swain 'Nody', 93 SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Lenora Neal Swain "Nody" passed away on November 1, 2021 at Compass Regional Hospice Center. Nody was born on September 12, 1928 in Denton, Md., daughter of the late William and Gladys Wright Neal. She was a 1945 graduate of Denton High School and attended Goldey Beacom College. Nody, began her career with family court in Wilmington and in 1958 moved to Sudlersville working for Sudlersville Bank, she then went to the State of Maryland working at the Bay Bridge, Animal Health Lab and retired from Upper Shore Mental Health. For 20 years she was a clerk for the Town of Barclay. Nody was a life member of VFW Post 652 and charter member of Sudlersville VFC Ladies Auxiliary, holding every position. She enjoyed league bowling and playing cards. Along with her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Paul Earl Swain; brother, Willian Neal; and sisters, Jean Cooper and Ann Cruikshank. Nody is survived by her children, Steven Swain and his wife Cynthia of Golden, Colo. and Nancy Warner of Dover, Del. A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, Galena, Md. where service will begin 12 noon. Burial will follow in Sudlersville Cemetery. Donations may be offered to VFW Post 652, 30922 River Rd. Millington, of Sudlersville VFC, 203 S. Church St., Sudlersville, Md.
