DOVER - LaVicy McKnight-Brice moved to Dover in 1980 after retiring; where she passed away, on March 16, 2007, at Westminster Village Health Center. She was 87.

She was born on Dec. 2, 1919, in Bishopville, S.C., to the late Elvin and Charlotte Blyther-McKnight.

She was raised in Lawndale, N.C., and graduated from Douglas High School in 1940. She is the last survivor of eight children.

In 1963 she moved to Washington, D.C. and worked at Holy Cross Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 30 years.

Sister Brice enjoyed many interesting hobbies such as crocheting, exercising, walking, bike riding, reading and humming along with many of her favorite Kingdom melodies.
