MILFORD – Laura E. "Nana" Mercer went to be home with the Lord on Friday, May 13, 2017. She was born on Jan. 10, 1944, in Downingtown, Pa., to the late George and Frances Mercer. Ms. Mercer, for many years, lived in Las Vegas, Nevada before returning to Del. She worked for many years as a cheerful cafeteria lady, in the Capitol School District before retiring. She looked forward to her time spent gardening and playing bingo. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, which were her pride and joy. In addition to her parents, Ms. Mercer was preceded in death by her beloved siblings, George Mercer, Frances Scott, Linda Ackerman, Wayne Mercer, Debbie Jarrett. She is survived by her loving children, Brian (Lori) Wright, of Nevada, Kimberly Wright, of Nevada, Harry Wright, of Delaware, and Dana Mercer, of Delaware; eight grandchildren, Bryon, Hunter, Buster, Ashley, Marrisa, Justin, Michael, Shannon, and Nick; and three great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Jacob, and Joslyn; five devoted siblings, Shirley Mercer, of Pennsylvania, Ginger (Pete) Ketterer, of Delaware, Rich (Gail) Mercer, of Delaware, Kay Mercer, of Delaware, and John (Linda) Mercer, of Pennsylvania; along with many nieces; and nephews. Services will be private. Arrangements in the care of Berry-Short Funeral Home, in Milford.
