Larry M. 'Buddy' Lane, 55

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Larry M. "Buddy" Lane of Chestertown died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, in his home. He was 55.

Mr. Lane was born in Chestertown, son of the late Henry and Gladys (Elmore) Lane.

He worked for the past 21 years as the assistant district utilities engineer for the Maryland State Highway Administration.

Mr. Lane loved music, and playing drums was a lifelong passion. He played in several local bands beginning at age 14.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, J. Roland Lucas; and a brother, Richard A. "Shady" Lane.

He is survived by his wife, Jayne (Gill) Lane; a son, Andrew "Drew" Lane of Silver Spring; a brother, Stephen Lane of Florida; a stepsister, Margaret LeGrand of Virginia; and a nephew, Erek Lane.

Memorial graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Church Hill Cemetery, Church Hill.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Kent and Queen Anne's Rescue Squad, PO Box 126, Chestertown, MD 21620.

Arrangements by the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, Chestertown.
