Landon W. Beach Sr., 80
MILFORD - Landon W. Beach Sr., of Milford, died Monday, March 24, 2008, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 80.
Mr. Beach was born in Calverton, Va., the son of the late Hugh H. and Pearl (Robinson) Beach.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
He was a lithographer for Fawcett-Haynes in Rockville, Md., for 26 years before retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Milford Monday Senior Bowling League.
Mr. Beach loved to play cards and watch sports and enjoyed going to the harness races. He was an avid Washington Redskins and Washington Capitals fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Beach.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Hazel (Sawyer) Beach; three daughters Judy Tukey of Chesapeake, Va.; Mary McBride and her husband Wayne of Dunkirk, Md., and Lynn Romero of Ellicott City, Md.; two sons, Landon W. Beach Jr. and his wife Patty, of Owings Mills, Md., and Charlie Beach, of Odenton, Md.; a sister Betty Shegogue, of Millsboro; 11 grandchildren, Kevin and Jason Beach, Tommy and Paul Bowen, Caitlin Tukey, Chrissy Beach, Meagan and Michael McBride, Daniel Niles, Tony and Sarah Romero; and two great-granddaughters, Natalie and Emily Bowen.
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Patriots Way, Millsboro.
