Kermit Bentley, 60
FREDERICA - Kermit Bentley of Frederica died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, in his home from complications of esophageal cancer. He was 60.
Mr. Bentley was born Aug. 9, 1946, in Freeburn, Ky., son of the late Clarence Bentley and Alma Bentley-Moeller. He moved to Delaware when he was 12 years old.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Bentley owned and operated K and S Drywall Inc., a drywall contracting company for the past 31 years.
He enjoyed beagle field trials with his friends at the Diamond State Beagle Club, where he also served for many years as treasurer and president.
Mr. Bentley was a good husband and father and had made many friends throughout the years and many will miss him. He was a good man and everybody's buddy.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Susan Bentley; three sons, Arthur Bentley of Smyrna, Stephen Bentley of Magnolia and Raven Bentley of Magnolia; two daughters, Sandra Bentley of Germany and Barbara Davis of Philadelphia; three sisters, Ganelle Fedewa and Gloria Bentley, both of Hartly and Heaven Lutton of Cheswold; two brothers, David Bentley of Hartly and Johnny Moeller of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Joseph Bentley, Justin Bentley, Brandon Bentley and Mya Fleming.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Torbert Funeral Home Chapel, Route 10, Dover.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
