Keith Emory West, 50

BLADES - Keith Emory West of Blades died Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, in Delmar, Md. He was 50.

Mr. West was born in Seaford, son of Mary Catherine Hearn of Laurel and the late John Emory West.

He was a self-employed mason.

Mr. West lived by his own motto, "I is what I is!" and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, David West, in 2003.

He is survived by his mother and his stepfather, Mary Catherine and Martin T. Hearn of Laurel; a son, Shawn Messick of Laurel; two daughters, Stacy Messick of Cincinnati, and Harley Elaine West of Blades; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Lamont and Catherine West of Selma, Texas, Dan and Sandy West of Berlin, Md., and Douglas H. West of Laurel; and four grandchildren, Jordan, Breanna, Dylan and Austin.

Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday in Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro.

Graveside services and burial will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Laurel. Pastor Ken Deusa will officiate.

The family suggests memorial contributions to American Diabetes Assn., PO Box 1132, Fairfax, VA 22038.
