Kay Frances Blackwell Baynard

SEAFORD - Kay Frances Blackwell Baynard was born on Sept. 2, 1948, in Winston-Salem, N.C. On Aug. 1, 2010, at the age of 61, she took her rest from life to go home to be with the Lord. Kay was lovingly known as BisSah. Kay graduated from Milford High School in 1966. She later married the late Willis P. Baynard, Jr. on March 25, 1978. Kay graduated from Delaware Technical and Community College in 1988 with an Associates Degree in Business Administration. She also received her Batchelor"s and Master"s Degrees from Delaware State University in 1990 and 1994. Kay was an employee of the State of Delaware as a Senior Social Worker. She enjoyed having family gatherings where love and food was shared. Kay received salvation at a young age at Mt. Enon Baptist Church in Milford. Later she became a member of Jesus Is Lord Church of Deliverance. She loved the Lord with all of her heart. She became ill on Feb. 1, 2005, and was admitted to Lifecare at Lofland Park in Seaford, where she made many friends and acquaintances. She was also known for her sense of humor. Her overseer and the saints of Jesus Is Lord Church of Deliverance were always in her heart. She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, a brother, James Blackwell, Jr. and a sister, Maxine Wanzer. She is survived by four children, daughter, Pamela Blackwell-Scott of Milford; son, Darryl Blackwell, Sr. and daughter-in law Ycorie of Dover; son, Willis Baynard and daughter in- law Juanita of Laurel; son, William Baynard and daughter-in-law Tanya of Milford; one sister, Janice Love of Dover; 17 grandchildren, Corey Scott, Alicia Scott, Zachary Scott, Darryl Blackwell, Jr., James Blackwell, Dontreze Blackwell, Deja Blackwell, Zamell Blackwell, Darren Blackwell, Darius Blackwell, Justice Baynard, Charity Baynard, Joseph Baynard, Tamia Baynard, Darius Baynard, Tamara Baynard and Isaiah Baynard; six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and caring and loving attendants. Funeral services will be noon, Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at Jesus Is Lord Church of Deliverance, Georgetown, where friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon. Burial will be in Community Cemetery, Milford. Arrangements are being handled by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Seaford. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book may be signed at www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com.
