MILFORD - Katherine McIlvain passed away peacefully Friday Oct. 18, 2013 at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was born in Felton, the daughter of the late George and Nancy (Wheeler) Morris. She previously had worked for A&P Grocery and was a member of Calvary UM Church. She enjoyed sewing, travelling, and gardening. Katherine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James H. McIlvain in 2011; brother, Elmer Morris; and sister, Mary Wilkins. She is survived by daughters, Barbara and Leo Grodkiewicz of Frederica, Joan and Terry Webb, and Judy and John Fister both of Milford; six grandchildren, Shelley and Roger Gravatt, Steven Grodkiewicz, Tim and Brenna Short, Todd Webb, Jes and Peggy Fister, and Jana and Lamar Demby; seven great-grandchildren, Lauren and Logan Gravatt, Tyler Leyanna, Taylor Fister, Mia and Marquis Demby, Marissa Hampton; and one great-great-grandchild, Khloe Leyanna. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at Calvary UM Church, 301 S.E. Front St., Milford, DE 19963, where friends may call after noon. Interment will be in Milford Community Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or contributions can be made in Katherine's name to the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 625 Georgetown, DE 19947 or Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
